The fact that the lack of respect, the way they treated that family was absurd - it should disturb every single soul in this United States." - Crystal C RomeroCrystal C Romero (R) MSG had worked hard to overcome her childhood trauma and build a life for herself and her three young children. When her leadership destroyed her career and left her struggling financially, she refused to be silent. She filed a 10-page congressional letter and 30 pages of evidence, but it took 934 days to complete her investigation.
Her senior leadership refused to help and instead launched a retaliatory investigation. After sharing her story and standing up for her rights, she was able to get an independent review. Despite the mistreatment she experienced, Romero still advocates for the military, recognizing the opportunities it provides and living by the creed that no soldier should ever be left behind.
